Atom
Hi All, I have a few python scripts on a custom shelf in Houdini 15.416. I just installed Houdini 15.459 and I want to remove 15.416. How do I copy my custom shelf tools from one version to the newer version? (without, of course, cutting and pasting code and recreating each button by hand). Thanks Edited May 1, 2016 by Atom
graham
Where are your custom shelf files located? If you put them in your $HOME/houdini15.0/toolbar directory they will be available for any version of 15.0.
Atom
They seem to be located in Documents\Houdini15.0\Toolbar. When I drop default.shelf into a text editor I can see my code and the XML that specifies each tool. However, when I open Houdini 15.0.459 they do not show up in the tool bar at all. The modify date, is set to today so something must have accessed or changed it. Ah, you have to add the shelf back in using the plus "+" button. My old shelf shows up in the list. berniebernie
So if anyone is reading this wanting to bump from H15 to H16 and your tools don't work, it might be because like me, even though your shelf has a name, it's being stored in another shelf (namely default) if you copy default as well as your shelf it works
