CaptainAhoy
Hi I am using music and CHOPS to change the height of the box and have run into a problem. The height of the boxes is changing too much i.e the height gets really huge in value based on the music. I used an "envelop" node to normalize the height but if I used a value of anything more than 0.2, the boxes don't move as much. They only move if there is a huge change in the music. I have attached a gif with this post. I would want the boxes to still move the way they are moving right now, just not as high. Basically, I am trying to figure out a way limit the max height of the boxes. Kindly assist. Thanks!
mestela
At a guess without a hip file (always post a hip file!), you could try using a function chop in pow(x) mode to warp the small values higher and the big values lower, then maybe a math chop with the range tab to bring it back to the range you want. Thanks for your reply. I will try this out Also, sorry about not posting the hip file. I wanted to post the hip file but that would also mean posting the music file Im using. I am not sure what the rules are when it comes to posting music files (as it might be considered illegally distributing / pirating music) If posting music files isnt a problem then I will surely post the hip file. mestela
or just don't attach the music file, or replace it with a noise like i've done. we can probably find a suitable replacement on our own computers.

mestela
Yep, futzing with the audio with range/limit/pow seems to bring it back to reasonable values: Adell_tweak.hipnc
