art3mis
Novice question (perhaps a dedicated forum for novices?). I understand the basic concept of different contexts or networks, but what seems non-intuitive to me is the ability to nest networks or contexts. For example, can any Houdniks explain to me why you might nest a SOP network inside a CHOP network which is in turn inside a COMP network? f1480187
It's like folder structure and only matter of organizing. It doesn't matter inside which folder you place and execute program (cook network, produce some data). Different objnets doesn't know about each other. So, they are not combined into same scene. Same goes for other network nodes. Topmost contexts are also appearing like nodes placed inside Manager context: You may look at this thread, but it may confuse beginners even more. jkunz07
It's useful for OTL building too, where you might embed a cop network in order to bake texture maps The ocean evaluate sop is an example of this.
