nick_h
Hey all, does anyone have any ideas how i could model flour coming out of a small old fashioned flour mill? I've modelled the mill (imagine two stone circles one on top of another, the top one with a small hole in the middle to drop in the corn - the top stone turns and flour comes out the edge between the two stones.) . So far i've tried using spheres copied onto the particles, but to get anywhere near a decent effect, my pc just dies trying to computer all the particles. I've also tried using a VEX 3d texture fog on the particles, cosi thought that the flour coming out would look something like smoke/fog, but this looked a rubbish ot be honest. I'm kinda stuck for ideas....help please! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Nick
Lukich
instead of physically copying spheres onto every particle you might try instancing. this way you create a textured object and during the rendertime every particle in the scene gets a copy of an object on top of it. michael
depending on how close you get to the flour you could try sprites...
