6ril
Hi, can someone help me with this: I need to make a digital asset, from an existing one (with a few changes of course) I stupidly duplicated the .otl file, with a different name, and tried to install asset library with the new duplicate file, but It show red in the install digital asset library window and modify all the node created by the original asset. I should learn more about .otl but unfortunately, I'm in a rush for a project, so If anyone can point me to the right direction ... that would be Great! thanks! MirrorSword
I'm not sure if this is the best way, but here is what I do when I want to create a new version of an otl. I right click on the node and go to the "operator type manager", then from that window I right click on my node definition and select "copy". This allows me to save a copy of the otl with a new name and in a seperate file. (If you want the copy to be in the same otl file you can use "duplicate"). Another tip is you can give the new otl the same name but followed by two colons and a number, like "oldname::2", and then it will act as a new version and replace that otl for any newly created nodes, but it won't change any of the already existing nodes in your scenes. more on that can be found here http://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini15.5/assets/namespaces Edited August 19, 2016 by MirrorSword
