locvio
Hi not sure what specifically you need and what your level of familiarity with Houdini is. (shatter ? pyro sims/fields?) . For now, I prepared a small file that shows progressive collapse by deleting glue constraints, and also activating pieces in stages -- both using growing bounding spheres on packed geometry. I grabbed a lifeguard house from Orbolt, cached it to file (attached), and used RBD glue object shelf button for initial setup. Nodes In red in autodopnetwork are most of what I added, take a look at voronoi shatter there.. (additionally shatters the walkway of the house, as an example). Apologies if this is all too basic for what you're asking.. glueExample.hiplc Edited August 25, 2016 by locvio fixed up the file..
anthonymcgrath
Im not the OP but I'm gonna take a look at this setup myself shortly thanks it's something I've been needing to try out too!

f1480187
Get CGWorkshops' Destruction in Houdini course. It covers everything you need and just perfect.
anthonymcgrath
German de Benito on Yt has dozens of tutorials on destruction actually! He's done some insane Arctic shelf collapse in there. Epic stuff!

Click the CC button to activate subtitles, then click the gear and change language to English. Unfortunately the translation is very very broken and hilarious as I quote Youtubes engine from Germans first lesson " from the fact that the metal class period only forests, only with the agreement between our girls. Cross landing on the moon, rain Makeyevka. yes you can book a sparrow and will"

martinkindl83
unfortunately for most of the tutorials there is no option for subtitles, im getting it only for the first tutorial, for others i checked, there is no option for subtitles. anthonymcgrath
I just follow through on his tutorials anyway and see how far I can get. Pause.. do a bit.. rewind.. try again etc.. try and figure bits out myself etc the software sort of encourages twiddling and fiddling so I like that and sometimes end up with something I didn't expect. There's a bundle of other tuts for destruction online too.. vimeo and Yt have numerous.
