catchyid
Hi, I have a Solid object (a Box) and I want to attach its top side to a moving Grid (plz, see attached), i.e. I want to move the Grid freely and make the Box top side glued to it. 1-"Rest" and "Target" Geometries on the Solid objects "don't" seem to work here as they reference the Box geometry itself. 2-"Target Constraint" node seems like a Pin constraint only, i.e. once you choose some points on the Box, they stop moving entirely... 3-"SBD Constraint" seem like a good candidate, but I am not sure how to use it! I select the Box as the constrained object, but then I have to choose "Points" ? I type them manually, not sure if they are correct even, should not that be even a group instead of points? Anyways, then I animate these points in the geometry but nothing happens?! What I wish to do is to animate the Grid freely and automatically glue points in the Grid and Box that are close to each other, such that if I move the Grid to the bottom of the Box it will be glued to the bottom of the Box. I think, there is no direct to do that, maybe I need to use Attribute Transfer node to move Box points that are close to the Gird and then animate use "Target Constraint" or "SBD Constraint"? But I am not even sure how to use "SBD Constraint" Your feedback is welcomed solid_grid.hiplc
catchyid
I managed to do it, although the solution seems strange! Basically, one needs to do two things: -In the "Solid Object" node, check "Import Target Geometry" and point to the animated geometry. Must set Target Stiffness to 0.0 -Add "Target Constraints" node, set "Constrained Object" to the Solid Object and "Constrained Points" to points you wish the Solid to follow
