Atom
Hi All, I have been stuck on this for a couple of days now. Each example I find does not seem to work for my requirements. The requirements are simple I want to emit particles at one end of the curve and I want the particles to travel along the curve to the end. For the most part the particles should track the line of the shape but they should also react to mild forces then return to trekking along the line. I have a Helix generator which generates points in the shape I want the particles to travel along. I used the CurveAttract shelf tool but it does not seem to work. I have placed the Pop Attract into Follow mode because I that is what I want the particles to do. But nothing seems to attract at all. Does anyone know how to make particles follow the shape of a path for real? ap_particles_follow_path_problem.hipnc Edited October 11, 2016 by Atom
rbowden
I don't know if this helps or not but, have you tried the popcurveforce? You would mess with the suction scale and follow scale depending on what look you are going for. Attached is an example: ap_particles_follow_path_problem_RB.hipnc 2
Atom
Thanks for the suggestion, that works. It works so well I wonder why the shelf tool does not make a PopCurve node instead of a PopAttrtact node when you click the Curve Attract Tool?
