abojung
Hey, im not sure if this has been asked before but im trying to do the maya ---->houdini---->maya workflow. But im stuck at one point. So when i export models, specially stuffs like wooden tiles or brick walls as abc or OBJ to houdini. Houdini reads it as a single file. So that stops me from using voronoi on per object level as it applies it to the whole models as one single object. Like for example i want to fracture the whole brick wall but i want to do it per brick level not as a whole wall. If this has been asked im sorry, but really need to get this figured out for a project. Thanks alot
ValentinD
Hello, You can use the alembic archive node in obj level, it will create a tree view inside the node, that way you can import objects with some object merge nodes. Have a look at the for each loop and unpack, I think that it can be the way to do it. Maybe someone will give you a better answer than mine, but that a beginning point Have a great day. haggi
Agree, have a look at the Alembic node, under selection you can select what you want to import. Or you can put a delete node after the alembic and delete what you do not need. Every alembic element is read as an packed primitive what you can see if you klick with the middle mouse button on the alembic node.
