[novice] simulating splash tank studio lighting

Recommended Posts

Hi Creating a scene similar to this and am not sure about the correct lighting approach. One environment light with skybox simulating studio lighting, or single area light with some bounce fill, or...? Another example with strobes  http://www.canstockphoto.com/tomato-water-splash-6616010.html

If I was shooting that in the studio I'd begin with a black background as wide only as camera view and backlight from either side. It's all to do with reflecting the light in the curves of the fluid as otherwise there's nothing to see. Even a circular narrow band could be good.

cheers
