jporter313
Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to Houdini. Trying to import a file from illustrator. After a few tries, I got the curves to show up, but I'm still having a couple problems: Houdini doesn't seem to recognize compound paths, so anything with a cutout is imported as separate curves and when extruded, doesn't work as intended. What's the workaround for this? It seems that the outer curves in my compound paths have reversed curve directions so when I extrude them, they extrude the opposite direction as everything else. I've attached an image that shows both of these problems. Any help with either of these issues would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Atom
I typically follow up with a Hole node (before the extrude) to handle those cases. But more often than not, I will just use a Trace instead. After converting the vector to a hi-res raster.
