NOR
Hey peeps, I'm new to houdini and trying to create a fur effect. I'm following the video on the SideFX page, but I ran into a problem that's probably very simple, but problematic for a beginner: when I select limit to bounding box, the box isn't there. Now I don't know if it's just not visible and I need to zoom it on it (though I tried selecting the move tool to see if it would become visible) or if it's just not there. I imported a 3D model from maya if that's an important factor. Thanks in advance! Edited March 23, 2017 by NOR
Guest tar
you need to be on the Handle tool, just above the snap to grid magnet icon.

NOR
And would you know why there are bald spots on my model? Are they gonna fill themselves when rendered? and is there a way to make hair shorter in some areas?and why would it all be flowing to one side? Thanks! Guest tar
Not sure - you can always render it to test. You can do all hair styling by setting the workspace to Grooming, then the Shelf tools will be easier to find.
NOR
Thank you! I was able to fix most of my problems. Now that I'm trying to render, it won't render the fur, it only makes the body a gloss look. do you know why?
