keltuzar
Does anyone got info on what CORE animation studios are upto in their animation feature? BTW is it only the one in Canada or also the one in LA that is part of the project?
altbighead
I don't think you will get any news because of NDA. I am hoping that they do well on this one but from what I heard it is quite similar to Madagascar in term of storywise.again what do i know. release date is not confirmed yet so it might be changed. For the cg quality , I don't think it can compete with Pixar or DreamWorks. Don't get me wrong , CORE is one of my dream company but considering budgets and resources they have you can do the math. hehe I am just speculating so don't take my words. I don't know anything about CORE except i spy with binocular. :batman:

How about we wait and see how it turns out... shall we? I think when images do get out it will turn some heads. Sure there will be people making negative comments, but THAT happens on every CG movie. Everyone here knows how much slam BlueSky got for Robots on the rendering side, how much Shrek got slammed for the weak humans, as did Finding Nemo. But anyone doing this kind of work, at this level, understands what really happens behind the scenes and how difficult it is to do. I think when you see it, it will be something no one else has done. That's all I will say... -k
michael
I can't much but I will say thay the quality is as good if not better than Pixar, at least the look of it - story might be another matter, but that's up to the viewer...

Keep up the good work! CORE.
grasshopper
The story is about <OUCH!> ... OK, well I can say the release date is <OW!!> ... The voice talent is <KAPOW!!!> ... Wow, the NDAs here are really tough! I keep getting electric shots from my keyboard every time I try to reveal something. Well I guess you'll just all have to wait but I promise it will be worth it! Arctor is right about Pixar comparisons though; this movie looks awesome!

Wolfwood
.....if only it were just two.... 19940[/snapback] I heard they cut the sequence with the two rabid oysters and the quadraplegic aardvark. I saw one of the renders from that sequence when I was on a tour and they looked pretty boss.
keltuzar
Somone who used to work there said its almost like sweat shop where one has to put in a lot of work and stay in for long hours .... Also any idea on when its going to come out? or atleast a trailer? Oh and btw is Houdini all the way right? Or is renderman being used to render the stuff out? just curious.... old school
As you can see, all the CORE-FA staff have all the time in the world to browse the forums, troll the web and more. I have supported CORE-FA from the get-go on this feature and all I can say is thank-you from the bottom of my heart! You guys have done so much for Houdini, Side Effects, the community, and CG in Toronto. When the film is released, the complexity, quality and lighting of the images will make even hardended CG types tingle with excitement. My knees are weak just typing this. These guys make it seem effortless and trust me when I say that the CG feature film industry has stood up and has taken notice of CORE. They are kicking serious butt. There's not much I can say about the show without thekenny coming upstairs and kicking my ass, but rest assured it will be very high production quality, not cartoony at all. The look of the show is going to totally blow Madagascar out the side hatch. Yeah it's too bad there's been so little news made public on this movie, still no trailer yet either. It's really looking fantastic and I think it will be a huge feather in SESI's cap (and of course CORE) once the show's completed, it's been a rather long run so far but I'm still very happy and proud to be working on this movie.
