mkalt0235
I came across the following tutorial to create a cigarette smoke:http://pepefx.blogspot.fr/2016/04/cigarette-smoke.html To sum it up very briefly, points are advected from a basic pyro simulation, then shaded and rendered. I am very new to Houdini, still trying to figure out its logic. My question is, what is the reason behind not simulating the cigarette smoke entirely in PyroFx and going through points instead ? mestela
You'd need a super high res pyro sim to capture those fine tendrils, more than is practical (or more than most people can be bothered to wait for. )
