Popular Post Wooshum
I am not sure if this has been posted before but just came across this site: http://wordpress.discretization.de/houdini/ To quote: "This website is here to help you to get started with Houdini in order to complete the Mathematical Visualization course at the Technical University of Berlin. The aim is to enable you to run your own geometry related algorithms while taking advantage of Houdini’s excellent visual graphics while avoiding to dig deep into the theory behind it." There seems to be some great material on here. In particular a unique way of getting scipy/numpy to work with Houdini - apparently you just copy and paste the entire anaconda 2.7 build into the Houdini python directory?! http://wordpress.discretization.de/houdini/home/advanced-2/installing-and-using-scipy-in-houdini/
jonmoore
Fantastic find. I've been searching for something like this for a while. The course lecture material is pretty cool too. http://www3.math.tu-berlin.de/geometrie/Lehre/SS17/MathVis/

Which school teaches discrete geometry mathematics in middle school?
Najat
i dont know about you but french school sure does. And i m still looking where i=are the mathematics, you could always say there some sort of mathematics in any software , but houdini doesn ask you to calculate anything, just like any pther software, it does what the programmed language is supposed to do if you speak oits language. that doesnt mean it doesnt have flaws, errors, glitches everything that mathematics dont have. Guest tar
Im sure French schools teach continuos geometry. Discrete always comes after calculus.
acey195
Its probably a translation thingy, middle school equals high school in dutch for instance, I think in France as well. (High school equals college in my language also, just for context and extra confusion )
