Houdini tracking

Recommended Posts

At very first you have to decide wich footage you will use for compositing and at this point are different ways. In each case you need a camera tracking software wich is responsible for matching the data between the real and your 3d cam, ie. Syntheyes, BonJour, PFTrack etc..

Also you should use a compositing software to put this two - or more pieces together. i.e. nuke, afer effects etc.

Rendering by itself, well... Use this renderer where you feel comfortable with. Arnold, Renderman for Houdini and vray or Arnold for Maya. That would be my choice. It also depends on the type of Animation you want to render.

Finally you also have to finetune the illumination and colorgrading in the compositing progress...

A very, very rough description. If you want to have more infos,  let me know.

ok. what did you render for importing into houdini?

what you dont see in your rendered sequence? the background images, sequence?

what are rendermarks for you?

- You can uncheck the background image toggle on your camera

- add 'vm_backgroundchannels' to your mantra rop and change the string from '*' to an empty string (Helpbrowser...)
