Dops Cloth Moving Stitch Constraints

I'm trying to get my head around the cloth solver stuff with stitch constraints. As a super-simple test (which would lead to more ambitious experiments), I'm trying to make a simple cloth grid and contstrain two corners of it to moving points.

I can do stitch constraints to the cloth object's own points no problem, but I'm out of luck when I try to use a separate goal object for the stitch constraint. In my example I'm even using the same grid as the separate goal object. Can someone confirm whether this works or not?

I've seen the stitch constraint demo stuff and it all works fine, but none of it demonstrates the separate goal object stuff. Seems to work with wire DOPs, though.

Can anyone here set me straight? Sample file attached.

Many thanks,
