FFidelis
Hi guys, I have been wondering if there any difference between substeps and timestep?
coltonmil
As far as I know, substeps are just an easier way to adjust timestep. Some of the preset shelf setups may reference the substep channel value though.
FFidelis
@coltonmill thanks, yeah i noticed that many shelf setups do that aside that the dopnet node also comes with those channel references. i still checked online and came up with this. it was helpful though not very explicit for that particular parameter. acceleration = (v-u)/timetaken , hence timestep or timeinc = time taken in houdini language. . Atom
Substeps is how many times a network will try to solve for any given frame. TimeStep is how a network moves through time based upon frames per second. 1/24 = 0.041666 Edited January 31, 2018 by Atom
