MG
I'm not sure since which version(s) of Houdini, but I - for some reason - don't seem to be able to properly playback audio anymore via CHOPs. When I generate a waveform, or import a Midi-file, and try to play it back - via the Audio Panel - I only hear noise. This used to work fine for me in older versions of Houdini, though I can't say which versions since it has been quite a while ago. Then, I'm not sure if it's Houdini to blame. Anyway, does anybody else experience problems with this as well?
FrankFirsching
Hi Marco! I didn't have such strong problems playing the audio, when doing my hacking contest entry, but I also noticed some problems. I used H8 with Linux. The problems were, that the sound often played cracky like a gramophone record. Perhaps this has a different cause than your problem, but I think, the audio got worse, when the graphics-card wasn't able to render the scene in realtime anymore. MG
FrankFirsching, Thanks for your answer, but it was something else that was causing the problem. Everything is okay now!
Pearl
Hi MG, Could you share what you found please? I'm trying to play with MIDI, but I can't get it to play back. It's fine with WAVE though. Any ideas? Thanks!
