Jason
Hi all, Just thought I'd post a fun application of using the UVBrush SOP to paint a surface sliding across itself. It brushes in the opposite direction than it should but there might be a way to get it to reverse this behaviour. This is a simple and fast way to brush around isoparms on a NURBs object. It would be great to have this as a PatchBrush tool - and if there could be any solid way to do it, a PolyBrush tool. Smile Anyhow; check it out and if you have any more ideas on this, post 'em! selfsnap.1.zip
sibarrick
Nice one, I really want them to add simple point dragging to the edit/sculpt sop. It would just let you drag points around parallel to the current view plane though, nice and simple. Having the surface drag around on itself would just be extra cream. thekenny
oh yes... we've been asking for something like that for a while. it would be so helpful to redistribute the mesh around. -k
Jason
Yep. It would seem that Brushing around points would be easier to manage than dragging around points since dragging can be random and I'm sure that if we could redistribute a poly mesh that we'd need to simulate the redistribution in small steps. It seems like a lot of the tools might be there - just waiting to be wrapped into new tool, no? If we brushed velocities onto points and simulated them with the POP sliding state, we should be able to brush around polys maybe? si: doesn't click-drag, turning off handle display allow you to drag your points in the camera plane? Rather than having to pick away one point at a time.... on a big mesh it isn't feasible.

Mario Marengo
That's very cool Jason! I just checked it out briefly, and didn't look into how you're doing it, but it definitely seems like a very useful idea. Cheers.
