robert.magee
Side Effects Software is hosting its last two Houdini 8.1 Roadshow events in Toronto, on Wednesday October 25, and Los Angeles, on Thursday, October 26. Each evening will include presentations about Houdini 8.1 features, such as the Auto-rig and Muscles, and a sneak peak of new features in Houdini 9 (the word is already out that fluids are involved). Each event will also include presentations by Houdini users. [*]In Toronto, Ken Ouellette, a Character Supervisor from C.O.R.E. Feature Animation will talk about Houdini
michael
Thanks to SESI for the nice night in Toronto very good presentations (yay Ken!) and good food and booze! H9 looks to be a very major release (though not without the inevitable controversy ) the fluids look very good and considering we were looking at work that is now a couple of months old I'm sure the final will be as good as just about anything on the market. those of you in L.A. should check it out if you can. Visual Cortex Lab
I was just wondering... since as far as I understood c.o.r.e.'s The Wild has been a really important "step" for SESI to release 8.1 release... has anyone been involved in the same way for any production fo rthe fluids development.. or this have just be done totally internally in SideFX? or to read the question in another way ... since The Wild was a good big "8.1 houdini show" ... is out there any "pre-show" of such Fluids yet? cheers. michael
not that I've heard... after all the fluid solvers are not even in alpha yet...and I think that anyone doing fluids for a production would rather use established tools than risk using something so 'young'...I know that as much as I'd love to try them out I woudn't take that risk...
