splitting Crowd sims - caching and interaction

I'm planning on splitting my crowd sim into separate sims - there may be a little overlap between the sims .... I plan to cache each sim separately - but it is probably OK if say I cache sim1 then run sim2 where some of the agents may interact with the already cached sim1. To get the live sim2 to avoid the cached sim1 .... is it just a regular pop force type thing - or is there better way? Thanks!
