kubabuk
Is it possible to lock one of the axis and transform object in the viewport in xy, xz etc plane. I cant find it anywhere, and think it would be quite useful. thanks kuba
old school
There are a couple ideas that come to me. You can Ctrl-click on an axis to create an additional handle manipulator, a small rectangle that allows you to transform the handle on that plane. I use that all the time. If you want to change the orientation, then just Ctrl-click on another axis to re-orient the rectangle manipulator. If you really want to "lock" the handle down in one of X, Y or Z, you can do that by locking the actual parameter. RMB on the parameter you wish to lock and choose "Lock Parameter" near the bottom of the menu. That will actually lock the parameter so that it will accept no changes either from the handle or from the parameter. You will notice that once a parameter is locked, the associated part of the viewport handle dissapears. This method works for Translates, Rotates, Scales and Pivot handle parts.
stevenong
Hi, If you're using a Transform handle, you can RMB on the handle & select "Handle aligned to view". Cheers! steven
