MadMax50
hello I am trying to crumple a paper and have a mask to drive the amount of crumpling. So basically 0 is no crumpling and 1 is full crumpling. The way I know how to get a crumpling effect is by reducing the rest length and playing around with the rest length scale . I am using the vellum constraint properties in dops to achieve this. I am trying to multiply the rest length scale by my 0 to 1 mask from sops. Nothing seems to be happening though. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will attach a hip and screenshot. Thank you crumple_mask.hipnc
mestela
Yeah strange, this almost seems like a bug to me. The other method I assumed would work is a vellum rest blend limited to only the bend constraints, but that also just sits there and refuses to do anything. I kindasorta got something working with a pop wrangle updating restlength directly, but it's way more fiddly than I'd expect. Took some notes from Junichiro's tutorial on curve folding, few other things, but there must be an easier method than this. vellum_paper_crumple_through_grad.hip 2
