Buzert
Hi and thanks for your help. My collision mesh is visible in blue and looks correct with hole in ceiling. I have a simple 2 story parking garage scene. I blow up the ceiling using force. The fractured pieces fly into the air. When those pieces come back down they don't fall into the hole. It's not a hard impact either. They sort of droop over the hole as if there is an invisible canopy. Thanks.
mrCatfish
Can you post a hip file? Even if it's just the collision object.
Buzert
Sure can. Here is the scene file.ceiling_a destruction sim forum.hip
mrCatfish
You didn't include any of the fbx files. Can you just use the stash SOP to stash this geo in the hip file?
Buzert
Sorry about that mrCatfish. I'm not sure how to stash SOP but I did attach the missing fbx files. You should be able to load the scene now. FBX's are attached. ceiling_a.fbx collision_ceiling3.fbx tunnel_a.fbx
Buzert
Also, here is a video of the issue. Notice how the debris springboard off the hole like it's made of rubber. ceiling tech issue.mkv
Buzert
Ok. I almost figured it out. My metaball is the force. However, my metaball is acting like geo in the scene and is colliding with debris. How do I continue to use the metaball as a force but have it not interfere with the simulation? ryew
If you don't need the metaball force after the initial "explosion" pushes your debris, set its Activation to 0 (off) with a keyframe or an expression
