I was reading the chapter on dynamics in "The Magic of Houdini" by Cunningham, and I am still not sure what exactly is a solver. What does the solver do? rdg Posted April 11, 2007 Share Posted April 11, 2007 What does the solver do? I'd say: The solver 'solves' the formulas needed to calculate the dynamic simmulation. The other nodes are like the variables/constants. The solver is like the '='. It also holds implicit rules for this calculation - thats why you can change some stuffe here, too.
