GlennimusPrime Posted June 20, 2023 Share Posted June 20, 2023 (edited) Is it possible either via light path expressions, or render geometry settings to turn off shadow casting or self shadowing on an object in solaris using Karma? I have a bumpy groundplane I would like to receive shadows from other objects, but not cast or receive shadows from itself. TobyGaines Posted June 28, 2023 Share Posted June 28, 2023 Add a 'Render Geometry Settings' node to the pipe under the ground plane, drag the ground plane from the Scene Graph Tree into the 'Primitives' slot, then go to Shading / Render Visibility and set that to 'Visible only to Primary'. I initially thought I was seeing self shadowing, but turns out it was actually bounce GI being cast from another object. Always learning something new. Cheers.
