Exoside Quadremesher not launching on MacBook M2 Max

Recommended Posts

Hey all, has anyone been able able to successfully install Quadremesher on a MacBook Pro M2 or M2 Max? I purchased QR a while back and have not been able to get it to successfully launch on Mac but it works just fine on my PC. I've reviewed all of the troubleshooting docs on the Exoside page but nothing in there is helping. Every time I drop in the QR node I get the cooking dialogue box but then it fails and the node errors out. If I hit the Launch Engine button on the QR node it does the same thing, launches the cooking dialogue box for a second and then fails. Anyone have any tips?

Ended up solving this and just wanted to update in case anyone else runs into issues with Quadremesher and Mac laptops.

The Quadremesher download link that Exoside provides when you purchase QR, and the download link on their site do not include the License Manager that is supposed to be in the quad_remesher_engine_1.2_, but you can download that folder separately, which I found at the bottom of their troubleshooting page. I replaced the folder in the USER/Shared/Exoside... folder and then opened up the License Manager and pasted my activation code. Once I threw down a QR node for the first time, I did get an error message saying that QR was damaged and should be moved to the trash, but I closed out of that error box and QR ended up working fine, and it has continued to work ever since.
