rohandalvi
hi, I was reading the features in the Houdini 9 Brochure, it mentioned that mantra can do point rendering . The question is how do u do that? Most of the particle tuts I have seen, use either sprites or spheres or metaballs. But i have never seen one that did point rendering. Is this something like the point type particle render in MAYA and Krakatoa ( The new point renderer for 3dsmax form Frantic Films.) Could anyone help , How do u do point rendering in Houdini? with regards Rohan dalvi
vmuriel
In the Geometry node, you must select the Render -> Geometry -> "Render As Points". With the attribute "pscale" you can control the size of the point.
rohandalvi
thanks a lot man, I never knew that. This software is so huge, I don't think I will ever finish learning it. It's like a 1000 times bigger than max (which is my primary software) But max comparing to Houdini feels like comparing Ms Paint to Photoshop or Painter Anyways, thanks once again. I will try it out. with regards Rohan Dalvi
