chunkified Posted December 6, 2007 Share Posted December 6, 2007 (edited) Hey all, I'm trying to create a bridge destruction for some personal work. All the effects work is being done in Houdini with everything else being done in Maya. Attached is a hip file of breakup/shatter model progress so far. I've run into a few problems... The section of the bridge i want to breakup is aproximately 50x10x150 in dimensions. After my method of breaking it into pieces, I'm missing the outside of the bridge. I'm also stuck on how to apply the texture map over the top faces that isn't procedural or via camera projection. By this i mean that it's one texture map across the whole of the top and not a different texture for each top face. If anyone has a better way of breaking up/shattering/fracturing an object please let me know or If anyone knows how to do something similar to the SESI demo with the bullet through the glass and wouldn't mind sharing that would also be a great help! 3dbeing Posted December 12, 2007 Share Posted December 12, 2007 I'm not sure what you mean by your losing the ' outside' does that mean the straight outline? if so I've done a little thing here which gets you pretty much the outside edge.
