Mcronin
Pretty simple one. I have a surface I'm using as a source to generate particles. The particles are metaballs that are instanced through an instance POP. When I look at the viewer in POPs, I can clearly see the metaballs are fusing together, but when I render, they render as discrete, seperate metaballs. How can I get them to fuse in my final output? stevenong
Hey Michael, Unfortunately, instanced Metaballs doesn't work the way you see it in the POPs viewport because the Metaballs are treated as separate Objects during the render. You will have to use a Copy SOP. Cheers! steven
Mcronin
Heya Steve! Eww, I was afraid of that. Thanks for the help. I *think* I can work with it out with the Copy SOP. Thanks for staying up late
Mcronin
I just figured it out. Use the Copy SOP to copy the MetaBalls onto the particles. I thought you were telling me to Copy the MetaBalls onto the source object. Well, I'm getting what I wanted now, and it's looking really, really cool. stevenong
Hey Michael, Oops! I should have been clearer with my reply but since you're figured it out, don't you just feel betta? Cheers! steven
s4l4x
Hey guys. How do you get the metaballs to inherit the particle colors? I figured a Color SOP after the metaballs which would reference a stamped parameter in the Copy SOP, but it's not working for me. Any help would be appreciated
Guest Swann
Hey guys. How do you get the metaballs to inherit the particle colors? Look on the last Tab in CopySOP and turn template point attributes. You don't need ColorSOP and stamp so throw it OUT. Color your particles in POP Network with ColorPOP. But it still won't help you with isosurface. Check this, last post sounds interesting But I haven't succed with applying it. JDenker
just guessing.. you could pass your color thru with a attributetransfer SOP... Edited April 24, 2008 by JDenker

You will get only one color. Edited April 26, 2008 by SWANN
