cspears2002
I recently installed Houdini Apprentice HD 9.1 on my Dell laptop running windows XP. My graphics card is a Nvidia Geforce Go 6800. When I launch my new version of Houdini, I get the following error message: Warning: OpenGL shader extension not available. This is a limitation of your video card or driver, and will prevent Houdini from using GLSL shaders. Set the HOUDINI_OGL_ENABLE_SHADERS to zero to avoid attempts to use this extension. What is causing this error message? I did try to download a new driver earlier, but I was not successful.

It should work.
goran
where to set this variable to 0 to solve the problem? in my case it is the bad graphiccard i have on my laptop. I'm absolutely new to houdini, and was looking in the helpfile, but have no idea where to change it.
ColinCohen
Go to the Control Panel, run System, and on the Advanced tab you'll see a button for setting environment variables.
