Transfer Texture

Hi there,

wouldn't be simpler to render contact mask and multiply it by texture applied previously on geometry?

They are number of ways to do this with particles, attributes transfers, point clouds etc. Specify your needs closer so we could help.

You could for example project roller position into wall UV space and render a b/w mask of this projection. Then you can project that mask (in accumulating mode so that second frame is added to previous one) on the wall geometry.

This approach is little more complicated than attribute transferring or even point cloud but can potentially can give much more detailed results since in two others methods we're dealing with a limited mesh resolution or point clouds samples interpolation = blurry.
