few_a_fx
I'm trying to figure out how to embed the fx tools I downloaded into my file. Does anyone know how to do this?

pclaes
The Fx tools are nothing more than any other otl, they are just packaged up with some icons and included in a new shelf. If you look under $HOME/houdinix.x/toolbar/downloads/FX Tools/fx_tools/ This is where the otl's reside, so now you can install them just like any other otl: File -> install digital asset library -> current hip file only
edward
Open from the main menu: Windows > Operator Type Manager. On the second tab, turn on "save definitions to hip file" (or something like that). Save your .hip file. Now you can just give your .hip file to someone who doesn't have the .otl files. Downside to this of course is that then if the .otl files are updated, your .hip file won't see the new ones. Probably best to turn the option back on when you don't need it less you forget.
