pclaes
This would look great with sss, rather then a refractive/reflective material. probably a bit of fresnel combined with a ligthing model to get more snowy edges where the object is lit -increases rimm light effect/light wrapping effect a bit. - you might consider making this a suggestion in rdg "one shader a day thread" I am sure this kind of material will benefit more people and would provide a nice little challenge. zasid
I think Pclaes has made a nice suggestion there. Try the AXIS_OTL shader in the SSS Diaries thread I think it is on 13 page or you can get it from Exchange also. Take a separate SSS pass and comp it with ur Ambient Occlusion pass and play around with colour will give u some good results. Also you displacement should be effective and convince on top of everything.
