cherm
Hi guys, I got a task which is to make a knitted wool out of a grid. What is the best way to approach it. I've attache the targeted image below. Do you guys think Ray Sop would do?, if yes, How? Thank you in advance

GallenWolf
Does it need to be a mesh? Have you tried displacement mapping? GW
cherm
Thanks guys, Finally I managed to do it. Basically, it's just whole bunch of curves (attribute 'width' added to them) rendered with constant color and displacement map on, and shadow map is needed also. Once again, thanks guys
stevenong
I would love to see the rendered results if you can post them. Cheers! steven
cherm
Unfortunately, I don't have permission to publish now. I will do when I am allowed to. Really sorry about that.
