junaid Posted May 9, 2008 Share Posted May 9, 2008 Hey guys, i was just going through some Houdini fluids and wondering is Houdini container based fluid are better then maya fluids? if yes why? bcoz i have seen Andy boyd talking about in his interview with odforce houdini fluids are better then maya's.. is it really right?? Starting from a beginning, Maya fluids are much simplified version of a solver. It lacks of pressure calculation for example what makes it less accurate but faster. Houdini solvers are pretty complete in terms of physical accurateness but slower. DOPs are in general the way more complete and robust then Maya dynamic engine. The simplest argument for that is full control over simulation of any kind without scripting, completeness (any possible solver, with number of versions) and integration in a whole Houdini's pipeline.
