My first VOPSOP with image (elevation map)

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm a new Houdini user and I'm discovering the power of this application dreaming a day to work with !

So I've studying some tutorials taken by sidefx.

Now I have problem and I don't know how to solve.

I have a simple grid that I want to displace with a VOPSOP operator driven by an image, what I need is to displace phisically points, so not in rendertime, because I need to know their positions for a next step in my little project.

I've created a UVTexture to set UV and a simple material.

Then I've created the VOPSOP node using a tutorial about creating elevation map, but my node doesn't work: i think it's about uv, but I'm not sure.

I've attached my working file so I hope it could be usefull for everyone who wants to help me.

Thanks in advance.

Michael

GallenWolf,

REALLY THANKS !!! It works !

I'm not sure why the uppercase was the problem, I could think Houdini will automatically find a vector node with "uv" as parameter name to take uv from the mesh: god, one day I have to read the manual instead to start with projects ! :)

Thanks again.

Michael
