crunch
In all the assets at odforce (there are a lot, which is great), could there be some way of finding out what's new. Going to the gallery to look for a new submission is really hard since I have to scan through everything to try to find what I'm looking for. Often, I get distracted and end up forgetting why I went to the gallery in the first place. If the submissions were sorted reverse-chronological order, that would help. Even if there were dates associated with the submissions, it would make finding stuff easier. It might also be nice to sort by other orders (i.e. author, date, subject etc.) Just my $0.02,
Marc
Hiya The problem with the codex and the gallery as a whole is that alot of those entries have been around since the first iterations of the site. (circa 1998). And since we didn't plan too much in those days, we have no record of what was submitted when. Of course, sorting by submittor or title is very doable (and we could probably fudge some date order too). But its all going to have to wait for the next iteration of the site. This version of the database was kinda tagged onto the non database site as an afterthought. So there are some things that aren't nearly as efficient as they could be. The next version will be rebuilt from the ground up with databasing in mind. This should make upgrading easier, as well as maintenance and all those other nice things. Stay tuned Marc
