ivan
I used the "embed in fluid" shelf tool, and it'll take geometry and advect it with fluids. cool. useful. However, I want to have moving geometry releasing points into the fluid every frame. I did this once previously for a client, I no longer have that .hip file, though. I did it with a sopnetwork that mixed lastframe geometry with new incoming points. I cannot figure out how I did that now- anybody have any advice? are there newer/better ways of doing this? ivan
got it- there's a nifty new "Drive Particles" shelf tool called "Advect" it works perfectly, just followed the directions on the help page.... woohoo! Jason
Yeah, that tool is useful, but not quite as good as the Embed In Fluid if you're conscious of your particle's rotation. But I also wish (along those same lines) that there was an easy setup for releasing more vorticles for when you have a constantly emitting source coz currently the vorticles get sparse (and useless) at the source. Okay, I know this unrelated to your needs but I felt like sharing:) That's how you make me feel, Ivan.

Jason
have you figured a way to use embed but have it add geometry at every frame? Yeah, by merging in new geometry in a SOP Solver. I try to find my setup for it that I used on a shot on Mummy.
