exporting fbx from maya 2009 to houdini 9.5

hi everyone. what i want is:

animated, textured model of a girl running in maya to export and carry over into houdini. for some reason, the only way i was able to get this to work was with an obj sequence export using the .mel script exportseries. but i've tried the fbx method man times and it will not work. has anyone had luck with this?

i've tried pretty much all the export settings in maya but the fbx imported into houdini always does not carry over the animation. i'm able to get the skeleton and the geometry, TEXTURED, but the animation doesn't go...
