ofer
Hi, I have a few python tools and a shelf I use, and every time I upgrade my Houdini version (uninstall and instal a new one), I have to copy the .pyc files to the houdini folder again, and create the shelf again. I know this is because I copy these to the scripts folder in the current installation folder, but is there any other pace, that will be persistent between installs? (Im working on OS X, if that matters). Thanks.
stevenong
If you're working on your own, instead of the installation directory ($HFS), the files should go to $HOME/houdini9.x/same_path_as_under_$HFS. You can also make copies of config files from $HFS, put it in your $HOME/houdini9.x, edit them and Houdini will read them on startup with preference given to the files in your $HOME/houdini9.x. Cheers! steven
ofer
I can find the shelf file there, but there is no scripts folder. Should I create it? Thanks.
