stevenong
You can use the Command Line Tools (Start > Programs > Side Effects Software > Houdni 9.5.xxx > Command Line Tools) which is a Command Prompt with the executable path set correctly for Houdini. Now, you just have to cd to the correct directory and type vcc -l output.otl input.vfl Hope the above helps! Cheers! steven
xoctan657
thanks this is very help but i want to know why i can't to drag the input file -for example- in the commend line and i had see tutorial and in it the instructor drag the the file into the commad line and the path come fast in the command line and no need to write all the path by hands(this is very long) so when i want to do the same the command line don't take any file in it . maybe that just in vista. xoctan657
and another Q : if i have copy the path for my input file can i past it in the command line or i must type it letter by letter.
stevenong
I'm not sure if Vista's command prompt is the same as XP's but I can drop a file into it & also paste with a RMB click. For pasting, you can edit the Properties of the Command Prompt by right clicking on the title bar > Properties, turn on "QuickEdit Mode and Insert Mode", click OK and select "Modify shortcut that started this window". If the above doesn't work, I suggest you google for answers through Vista related forums. Cheers! steven
