QA guy at Sidefx thinks my Krakatoa exporter code was a promotion

Recommended Posts

I posted a simple script that exported particle data in Krakatoa PRT format. and the senior QA guy deleted the thread without notice, on asking he said this kind of thing is considered advertisement/promotion. What kind of non-sense is that, i dont work for anyone, i posted the code because some people were interested in it too.

Can i post the code here?

There has been a rash of ads & Spam recently on the Sidefx forums, so he probably thought your post was spam. If you contact him and explain, I'm sure he'd reinstate your post (or at least allow you to post another) -- he's a pretty nice guy :)

You can also post things that you think are useful to others on the Sidefx Exchange.

I don't see why this would be any different from something like the Maxwell render tools in that downloadable shelf - might want to bring that up as an argument to him too.

This seems to be a misunderstanding. The message as originally posted talked about Krakatoa as a plug-in that was WAY better than Houdini which made it sound more like an ad. I have asked ahmedali to provide the python code again in the exchange then let people know that this interoperability option is available. As mentioned there have been more and more ads popping up in our forums and we are trying to keep them to a minimum.
