Nub Question - What's is "Handle follow groups"?

Recommended Posts

Controls whether the handle will automatically reposition itself based upon the "group" paramteter of the SOP.

Sorry, don't understood, can You provide more detail for explanation. What is the "group" parameter? Why after unchecking this box next time I visit "Handle follow groups" it's checked again? Why changing Handle Pivot position in "Handle Parameters" dialog has no effect?

I can't find any info for this in help and search through the web... And I just beginner...

Thanks!

Try this:

- Put down a default Box object and dive into Geometry mode

- Change the Center parameter, change the component value to sin(2*$FF)

- In the viewer, select a polygon and hit 't' to go invoke the translation tool

- Right-click on the handle and bring up the Handle Parameters. Don't modify it, just put it somewhere out of the way so you can look at it.

- Hit play and note how the handle follows the animated geometry

- Now hit the apostrophe key to detach the handle. Move the handle somewhere else. Notice how Handle Follows Group parameter turns off. Hit the apostrophe key again to re-attach it.

- Hit play and note that the handle no longer moves with the animated geometry.

O, it's for geometry level! Just now I understood that on SOP level pivot point of handle work by other way then on scene level. Thanks for help!
