mightcouldb1
I am rendering some flames with pyro fx, but I want the flame to contribute some illumination to the room that the fire is in. I know that most people will do this with a light and an expression, but I'd like to try using the flames as illumination. I decreased the volume step size which decreases render time but makes my fluid look grainy. Does anyone have any ideas about this one? Ezz
Im pretty sure you can do that. There is an option where you can check lightscatter "on" in some of the in the pyroFX attributes. Have a look on this : http://www.sidefx.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1524&Itemid=132 http://download.sidefx.com/images/stories/tutorials/learning_pyro/pyro_07.mov Its a good tutorial covering most of the new pyroFX in houdini 10 Erik Edited January 18, 2010 by Ezz
