Patrick
I am a new houdini user, and am also teaching houdini to architecture students at the National University of Singapore. It is a great piece of software! I have been creating some pdfs for my students, to get them started. I find that there is not really anything introducing the fundamental concepts. I was looking for a place to create a wikibook so that I could get feedback from more experienced users, but I could not find a good place. I tried wikibook.org, but there are copyright issues with screen captures. Then I saw that od[force] has a mediawiki site, which I think might be a good place to create a wikibook. Would the of[force] people be interested in this? The aim of the wikibook would be to provide a gradual introduction to Houdini, starting with modelling and some python scripting - I am calling it Houdini 101. Bunkerfritz
You might want to think about another name, because "Houdini 101" is the name of a commercial Houdini training product - just to avoid misunderstandings.

Patrick You should have a look at 3dbuzz.com They have great introductional products, Though very technical. For instance they have entire class about ripping the houdini GUI apart and build it up from scratch. I found it usefull. edward
Where are the mods? Someone give Patrick wiki access!
Marc
Hey Patrick It sounds like a great idea. The od[force] wiki is the perfect place and we'd love for you to put it on there. Since you've registered for the forum you should already have write access. Once you've got a page or two up then let me know and I can put a link up on the main page for you. Cheers Marc
