fur rendering/lightning

Recommended Posts

I setuped a very easy scene to play around with a propper lightning setup to get most out of traditional lightning (no pbr).

As you may thinking i'm definitly not the guy who have a far knowledge of lightning but ok, I want my images render out as best as I can.

I've started with a 3 point lightning and the key light has a depth map but hmmmm It look not right, maybe flat.

For any advise I would be very thankful

hi!

Calculating shadow maps from point lights is expensive and not optimal, use spot lights instead, by default it renders deep shadow maps so set the resolution to 256 for tests, and set pixel samples to 3*3 at the shadow settings on the light

Hi Daniel,

I already using spot lights. I've placed a key, spot and rim light but hmm I'm not sure if it is a right setup for hair. I also using just shadow maps for the key light, for the other lights there were no shadows generated.
