Zanozza
Bored with "bad" Houdini modeling tools? Why not to integrate Maya as Houdini Modeling tool? I am happy to show live Maya-Houdini integration. All surface information/modification will affect Houdini SOP immediatelly. That could be completely live connection or "connection-on-demand", when Houdini geometry will update after mouse button release in Maya (keep the performance of network connection). Houdini geometry will be re-created after lost connection/houdini crash/geometry deleting accedetly etc. Video
ikarus
pretty interesting, are you using ports or something to listen on the maya commands?
goldleaf
Neat! Are these scripts or plugins you wrote? Do they work on other platforms apart from Windows?
zglynn
Wow. That is pretty sweet! Something like this could be very useful for our school's pipeline. I saw on vimeo where you said, "The pipeline completely platform-independent. Maya user can work somewhere in UK on PC but Houdini can work, for example, in USA on Linux server!" I would love to know how you are doing it.
Netvudu
wow...is this using something Maya-related or could this method be developed for other modelling packages as well? I´m dreaming of organic modelling in Lightwave and having it shown this way inside Houdini....

zarti
yes . and LW has integrated python in the latest version . i havent updated it yet , but Modeler looks might fit better in this scenario ( since it is focused in poly-modeling only ) .. does anyone knows a link ( or something python related ) which might help me to attempt something similar with Blender ? im not a scripter , but want to try this ' live-exchange ' state . =) !thanks
