sop solver -- remember deformation

hello guys, recent project require me to develop some controlable rigid defomation system. Assuming a car is falling to the ground and hit another, the car is deformed by other cars. I want to use sop solver to solve the problem, by using some metaball and magnet nodes. But the problem is, in my simulation the cube can not remember the deformtion. When the cube leave the metaball, the deformtion is gone.

Is there any good idea to let the car remember the deformation, like a plastic deformtion?

hope some nice guy helps:}

There is a sop solver example which does just that using metaball and magnet to deform a torus. The example uses particles, so for your example, instead of using particles you would want to create a point where impacts occur.
